Just a very brief post today since I am in the middle of writing quarterly and annual Progress Reports for the funding agencies...
The Society for Neuroscience - the primary professional scientific organization for those who study nerves, neurons and the brain - has unveiled "Brain Facts" (http://www.brainfacts.org/). This new website does many of the same things I am trying to do by describing brain science in lay language and common terms. The site often focuses on explaining the current state of the field with new or speculative scientific questions. Recent features on the Brain Facts website include "Language and the Brain: What Makes Us Human" and "Reading Minds: the Science, not the Fiction". There are many other valuable features and articles, as well as a current news section.
I'll be watching Brain Facts and linking to their content in some of my future blogs. If the Brain interest you, you may want to check out Brain Facts.
